Three swords and still not so magic or 666 when it comes to picking battles with Loki

It is often very little emphasised, among practitioners of the Art, that no matter how magnificent a sword is to look at, it still remains practically a useless tool if it cannot raise for the occasion. Worse still if its proud owner does not know how to use it.

Oh dear Thoth!

The sword is the weapon par excellence used by the Magus. Why? Because the sword represents the highest form of Intellect and it is used to command, control and banish demons and certain spirits. But what is magical about it, is not the object itself but what of his own, the Magus imbues into the object as a symbol.

Remember Excalibur?

“WHOSO PULLETH OUTE THIS SWERD OF THIS STONE AND ANVYLD IS RIGHTWYS KYNGE BORNE OF ALL BRYTAYGNE”.

Let us consider for a moment the properties of a stone as part of the element of earth, how this word is commonly used in figurative everyday language and then let’s go back to that image of the legendary Excalibur: the ultimate sword in every Magus’ dreams of glory.

Stones are dense, heavy, hard, solid, fixed, inert, dry, fireproof.  For example: being stuck between a rock and a hard place is an idiom that perfectly describes the sense of restriction which obstructs any action from taking place; or heart of stone: unchanging and callous disposition. Ever tried moving mountains? Well, you get the point…

The stone clamps the sword firmly to the ground and nobody seems to be able to lift it away from its place.

The stone remains hermetically impervious to Fire (Purity of Spirit) and Air (Higher Intellect) and then, remember that, it was a hand from the depths of the Waters (Subconscious Emotions/sabotage) to confine Excalibur in the element of Earth (Manifested Realization).  The powers of Fire and Air the sword harbors within, are deactivated by their earthly enclosure, and by absurd paradox, can only be revitalised when Fire and Air generated from an external source are earthed through contact with the hilt of the sword.

The message here is simple: the sword is no other but a symbol for the Magus’ attained mastery at shaping reality through the communication of logic and order, as the scalpel of Air.  In lay terms: to talk sense.

Fire is the authoritative blueprint of higher knowledge from which the Logos (Air) proceeds. In lay terms: wisdom.

It is through this combination of masculine elements that the Archangel Michael slays the Serpent (of Earth and Water) and asserts his dominion.

Water likes nothing more than emotionally charged rhetoric to manipulate and distort the reflection of reality it projects.  It is the realm of shadows where wishful thinking coils itself into elaborate knots until it’s defeated.

Air is to order as Water is to chaos.

As within so without.

So I began to ponder: to what extent does the number of swords owned maketh the Magus and what skeletons lay in the trap-door underneath a nickname? In other words, should a Magus’ worth be measured by pomp, titles and claims or by meritocracy of Spirit and Intellect?

So, I picked up the lumps of dirt thrown in my direction and I calmly began to examine them. I decided put them through the test of fire to see if any substance .

I started with this large lump and broke it into pieces, adding other lumps as I went along.

“well the ‘truth’ is that this person was refused the higher degrees because they were not ready for them, and their constant whining and going from group to group, Alexandrian then Gardnerian, whilst slagging off each of the groups and then posting on the atheist nexus that the whole wiccan system was a plain load of bollocks just proves that the HP was right in refusing to given them the higher degrees! Their behaviour since has been disgraceful and has earned them no favours… just the opposite in fact”.

The resulting revelation was astonishing: 10 consecutive fails that indicated the author cannot raise none of his three swords to construct any intelligent, well-thought argument.

Perhaps 911 or 999 would be more appropriate in his email address?

So here is my formal response:

1) the ‘truth’ is that this person was refused the higher degrees because they were not ready for them

mmm…would the 7 witnesses present in circle back you up on this?

2) and their constant whining

I must have been under the influence of a Grand Master!

3) … and going from group to group, Alexandrian then Gardnerian

eh eh…either your informant knows as much as you do or you do not understand your informant when s/he speaks.

3) whilst slagging off each of the groups

I don’t see how or why: your enemies are my best friends…perhaps, yes, I have so to speak “slagged” you off to each of the groups as a purgative exercise. Mind you, it’s not as if they needed to hear it from me. If they haven’t gone through it themselves, they certainly heard it all before I came along.

4) and then posting on the atheist nexus that the whole wiccan system was a plain load of bollocks

don’t just whine about it…cut and paste it here then!

5) …Lucy you are just a bitter and twisted woman, who is doing the rounds, not even a Gardnerian 2nd will have you! You are a laughing stock, all of your own making my dear!! you’ve made your bed, now lie in it!!!!!!….

Judging by the way you are presenting yourself , many would actually agree I do have a point about wicca…

6) just proves that the HP was right in refusing to given them the higher degrees

the HP did give me the higher degrees on Beltane 2010. You told me you had “sensed” it on you way back from Wales. Don’t you remember or is it that you’re finding it too hard to get over it?

7) Their behaviour since has been disgraceful and has earned them no favours… just the opposite in fact

Can you post the evidence?

8) …not even a Gardnerian 2nd will have you…

Where is this Gardnerian then? Why isn’t he here to support your statement?

9) …You are a laughing stock…

Eh, eh…if only you knew!!!!

Now dulcis in fundu……………

10)  The person who wrote this article clearly does not understand how a coven works, instead they reveal much about themselves, behaving like a spoilt child having a temper tantrum because they cant get their own way!!
